Browsers

Information Style Sheet support in Netscape 4 is very buggy - if a page displays strangely, try reloading it whilst holding the shift key. However, it is recommended that you disable style sheets using the Edit menu: select Preferences..., Advanced, then uncheck the Enable style sheets checkbox and press Reload.

The pages on this web site are designed to be displayed with browsers providing Cascading Style Sheet support, but the information can still be viewed on browsers which do not support style sheets. Please note - no two browsers provide identical style sheet support (even the same browser under different operating systems), but pages are checked against Internet Explorer 5 and 6; Netscape 4.7, 6, 7; Opera 7; and Safari. When possible, pages are also checked against the audio browser pwWebSpeak32.

Accessibility

HUGO aims to make these web pages accessible to all, and therefore follows the W3C Web Access Initiative guidelines. All HGM2004 web pages are checked against the WAI checklist, and should pass with WAI AAA approval. The exceptions are some fill-in forms (Expression of Interest etc.) which only comply with AA approval because text boxes have to be left empty to ensure that users complete the details - AAA approval requires place holders to be put in these text fields.
